Dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxers

Wrinkle relaxants are another great treatment option for reducing wrinkles and unwanted facial lines. Wrinkle relaxants work by relaxing the facial muscles that cause worry and frown lines through repeated contracture. The relaxants prevent muscles from contracting, subsequently stopping the skin from crinkling and creating fine lines.

What is involved in the treatment?

Just like dermal fillers, our wrinkle relaxant specialist will undertake a detailed assessment of your aesthetic goals and walk you through the most appropriate treatment plan. The procedure can be started shortly thereafter, and only takes about 10-20 minutes depending on the extensiveness of the treatment, with a small number of injections using the wrinkle relaxant solution is injected into the treatment areas.

How long will the treatment last?

In general, the effects of wrinkle relaxant treatment take between 2-14 days to show visible signs of changes. Post-treatment, there may be some initial bruising as a result of the injections, this will subside, with the treatment lasting between 3-6 months depending on the individual patient.

What is involved in the treatment?

At the initial consultation, our dermal filler specialist will assess your facial features and determine the most appropriate treatment plan as well as discuss what your goals are and make sure you understand the implications of dermal filler treatment.

Following the assessment, the treatment can be started immediately. Using a fine needle, small amounts of the treatment gel is injected into the skin, lifting and adding volume to the area.

Typically, dermal filler treatment only takes approximately 30 minutes, however, this will depend on the extent of your treatment and the total number of areas receiving filler. Following the treatment, it is important not to apply pressure or touch the areas treated for at least 6 hours to allow for the filler to settle.

How long will the treatment last?

Often, the results of dermal filler treatment are instantaneous and generally last for 6-12 months. The total length of time will depend on the individual patient’s age and the overall health of their skin. Most patients undergo a repeat or top-up treatment after a year.
